The Time Audit: A Simple Weekly Ritual for Gaining 10+ Hours

If you’ve ever felt like the week flew by and you got nothing meaningful done… you're not alone. Most people spend their time reactively, not intentionally. A time audit fixes that.

Here’s the simple process I use every Sunday to reclaim 10+ hours each week.

Step 1: Look Back at the Week

Open your calendar, time tracking app, or even your notebook. Look at:

  • Where your time actually went

  • What work drained your energy

  • What you did that moved the needle vs. what didn’t

Write down 3–5 time-wasters.

Step 2: Identify Your “High-Leverage” Work

Next, highlight the top 2–3 activities that drove results—client wins, content produced, systems improved.

Ask: If I only did these next week, would it move my work forward?

Step 3: Design Your Ideal Week

Now use your insights to block your upcoming week. Remove 1–2 things that drained you. Reprioritize time for deep work.

I personally use Notion and Cron calendar for this.

Optional: Use a Template

Need a structure? Here's a simple Time Audit Template in Notion (Coming soon).

👉 Do this weekly. You’ll know where your time leaks—and what to double down on.
